Closing the Deal
I get asked for training on “How to close the deal” constantly. People think they’re asking for the “magic words” that get prospects to agree to become customers, but the fact is there are no magic words…closing is the natural outcome of the sales process, done right. If you’d like to learn how to close more business, learn a sales process that actually works. Learn how to establish rapport with prospects, how to ask them the right questions, how to listen actively, how to ascertain whether what you think you heard is what you actually heard, how to make a presentation, how to negotiate if needed, and THEN how to ask for their business.
Here are the words I use to close deals and the words I’ve taught tens of thousands of salespeople over the last 20 years: “That’s the plan that makes sense to me and what I believe we should do to move forward…what do you think?”
It’s not fancy, it’s not a closing “trick.”
Closing is simply asking a question, the answer to which is either Yes or No.
